Building your cabin
Did you know the average log cabin will only take between a month and four
months to build. What will determine the time it takes to build will be the type
of design you choose.
Once you have the plans your builder will lay a foundation and then the
exterior walls of the cabin will be installed. Then the roof will be put up.
Once the roof is up you will begin work on the interior of your cabin -
installing the windows, plumbing and electricity.
An important decision to make when building your cabin - or before you begin
building your cabin - is the type of logs you are using to build the cabin. The
type of logs used will greatly affect how your cabin looks. There are two types
of logs - handcrafted round rough cut logs or milled logs. Milled logs are more
uniform than handcrafted round logs and fit together.
